# Cookie policy

> Which cookies and browser storage Orbit uses on its website, in the dashboard and at checkout, what each is for and how long it lasts.

Last updated 4 October 2026. Draft: the company details in this document, and some of its terms, are placeholders until launch.

## In short

- The website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies.
- The dashboard sets only the cookies it needs: to sign you in, to keep forms safe, to keep you signed in for 30 days and to remember the sidebar.
- The network that delivers the dashboard sets one more, which tells people from automated traffic.
- The website and the dashboard set no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
- The checkout of our payment provider may set its own cookies when you start a payment.
- In our view our own cookies need no consent, so there is no cookie banner.

The full text below is what counts.

A cookie is a small piece of text that a site asks your browser to keep and to send back on later visits. A browser can also keep data for a site in its own storage, which is not sent back by itself. This policy lists both, for each place where you meet Orbit.

"We" and "us" mean Example Hosting, Inc., the company that runs Orbit. What we do with personal data in general is in the [privacy policy](https://arrangic.com/privacy).

## The website

The website at https://arrangic.com, with the documentation, sets **no cookies**. It has no analytics and no advertising, and it loads nothing from other companies. The fonts and the scripts come from our own domain.

It keeps two values in the session storage of your browser. Both stay in your browser, and both are gone when you close the tab.

| What it remembers | Why |
| --- | --- |
| That an address ending in a slash was already corrected | So that a page cannot reload in a loop |
| Which groups of the documentation menu are open | So that the menu looks the same on the next page |

## The dashboard

The dashboard at https://app.arrangic.com sets cookies for four things.

| What it does | How long it lasts |
| --- | --- |
| Keeps you signed in while you work | Until 120 minutes have passed without activity |
| Protects forms against requests forged by other sites | 120 minutes |
| Keeps you signed in on this browser between visits | 30 days from the day you signed in, or until you sign out |
| Remembers whether the sidebar is open or closed | 7 days |

The first two are needed to sign you in and to keep forms safe. The third saves you from signing in again on every visit. The fourth remembers a choice you made. None of them follows you to other sites, and none is used for analytics or advertising.

One more cookie comes from the network that delivers the dashboard to your browser. It tells people from automated traffic, which protects the service. It lasts 30 minutes and is set for the address of the dashboard only.

All of these cookies are sent over HTTPS only. The ones that sign you in cannot be read by scripts on the page.

The dashboard may also keep a value in the session storage of your browser while it takes you from one page to the next. It is gone when you close the tab.

Two pages of the dashboard show profile pictures from GitHub. Your browser loads them from GitHub directly.

## Paying

When you start a payment, the checkout of our payment provider opens. It is loaded only then. It runs under the provider's control and may set the provider's own cookies. We do not set those and cannot list them here.

## Why there is no cookie banner

The law asks for consent before a site stores something in your browser that is not needed for what you asked for. Our cookies in the dashboard sign you in, keep forms safe, keep you signed in on your own browser and remember a choice you made. The cookie of the network protects the service against automated traffic. The values in session storage make pages work. In our view none of this needs consent. If we ever add something that does, we ask before we set it, and this page will list it.

## Your choices

You can delete cookies and block them in the settings of your browser. If you block the cookies of the dashboard, you cannot sign in. The website works without any.

## Changes and contact

When what we use changes, we change this page and the date at the top. Questions go to [privacy@arrangic.com](mailto:privacy@arrangic.com).
