# Terms of service

> The agreement for using Orbit: what we provide, what you pay and when, what you answer for, and how either side can end it.

Last updated 4 October 2026. Draft: the company details in this document, and some of its terms, are placeholders until launch. Deleting data for good is not built yet. Today a deleted app is taken off the servers, but its records, and those of a deleted team, stay in our database. The times given here for deletion do not apply yet.

## In short

- Your code and your data stay yours, and we use them only to provide the service to you, to keep it safe and to follow the law.
- The plan fee is charged at the start of each monthly period, and usage is charged afterward, with the next renewal.
- If a payment stays unpaid, your apps are paused after 7 days, and apps left without a plan are deleted 30 days after the plan or the trial ended.
- The disk of an app is temporary and we make no backups of what it writes, so keep your own.
- There is no promised uptime, and as far as the law allows our liability is limited to what you paid for the service in the twelve months before the event.
- You can stop at any time, and we tell you at least 30 days before a change to these terms that matters.

The full text below is what counts.

These terms are the agreement between you and Example Hosting, Inc., the company that runs Orbit. They say what we provide, what you pay, and what each side can expect of the other.

"We", "us" and "our" mean that company. "You" means the person or organization that uses the service. "The service" means Orbit: the platform that builds and runs your apps, and [the dashboard](https://app.arrangic.com) where you manage them.

Two sections limit what we answer for: [No warranty](#no-warranty) and [Limit of liability](#limit-of-liability). Please read those with care.

## The agreement

You accept these terms when you create an account or use the service. If you use the service for a company or another organization, you accept them for that organization, and you confirm that you are allowed to do so. "You" then means that organization.

Two more documents are part of this agreement: the [acceptable use policy](https://arrangic.com/acceptable-use) and the [refund policy](https://arrangic.com/refunds). The [data processing addendum](https://arrangic.com/dpa) is part of it when it applies, as the section [Privacy and data processing](#privacy-and-data-processing) explains.

The [privacy policy](https://arrangic.com/privacy) and the [cookie policy](https://arrangic.com/cookies) explain what we do with personal data. They are for your information and are not terms of this contract.

## Who may use the service

You may use the service if:

- you are at least 18 years old,
- you are able to enter into a contract, and
- you are not barred from it by sanctions or by export law.

## Your account and your team

An account is a name and an email address. There is no password. To sign in, you enter a code that we send to your email address. Whoever controls that mailbox therefore controls the account. Keep the mailbox safe, and do not pass the codes on. You answer for what is done through your account.

The details you give us must be true. Keep them up to date.

Your apps belong to a team. A team has an owner, and it can have admins and members. The [documentation](https://arrangic.com/docs/teams) says what each role can do. The owner answers to us for the team and for what its admins and members do in it, so invite only people you trust.

If you believe someone else got into your account, tell us at once at [security@arrangic.com](mailto:security@arrangic.com).

## What we provide

We build your apps from the GitHub repository you connect, and we run them, as this website and the [documentation](https://arrangic.com/docs) describe.

The service changes. We add features, change them, and sometimes remove them. If we remove something you rely on, we tell you 30 days ahead where we can.

Features marked as preview or as planned come without any commitment.

## Your apps and your content

You keep every right in your code, in your data and in whatever your apps serve. In these terms, "your content" means all of that.

You allow us to copy, build, store, run and transmit your content, only as far as that is needed to provide the service to you, to keep it safe, to enforce this agreement and to do what the law requires. We claim no other right in it.

You answer for your apps and your content:

- You have the rights you need to use your content and to have us host it.
- Your content is lawful, and so is what your apps do.
- You keep your code, the packages it depends on and your secrets secure.
- The people who use your apps are your users, not ours. You answer for your dealings with them and for their data.

**You keep your own backups.** The disk and the memory of a running app are temporary. What an app writes there is lost whenever the app is deployed, restarts or goes to sleep. We make no backups of what your apps write. Store what must last somewhere else.

## GitHub

To connect a repository you need a GitHub account. Your use of GitHub is under GitHub's own terms. We do not run GitHub, and we do not answer for it.

You connect by installing our GitHub app on the repositories you choose. We read those repositories in order to build your apps, and GitHub tells us when you push to them.

## Acceptable use

What you run on the service, and how you use the dashboard, must keep to the [acceptable use policy](https://arrangic.com/acceptable-use). We may suspend or remove what breaks it, as that policy describes: usually after a warning, and at once in serious or urgent cases.

## Plans, usage and payment

### What you pay

You pay a plan fee for each billing period, plus usage, as the [pricing page](https://arrangic.com/pricing) describes it.

A billing period is one month. The first one starts on the day your plan starts. At the end of each period the plan renews for another one, until you cancel.

The plan fee is charged at the start of each billing period, so a plan is paid ahead. Usage is charged afterward: what your apps used in one period is charged together with the next renewal of the plan. The usage statements are in the dashboard, in the billing settings of the team, where the owner and the admins can see them.

Prices are in US dollars and do not include tax. Taxes are added where the law requires it.

Each plan has limits. The pricing page and the [documentation](https://arrangic.com/docs) list them.

### The trial

You can try the service before you pay. The trial lasts 7 days and comes with $5 of usage credit. It needs no card and costs nothing.

The trial starts once you have verified a GitHub account that is at least 30 days old. There is one trial for each person and for each GitHub account.

When the credit is used up or the 7 days are over, and you have not chosen a plan, we pause your apps. A paused app does not run. What follows is under [When a plan or a trial has ended](#when-a-plan-or-a-trial-has-ended).

### How you pay

Payments are handled by our payment provider. Where the provider acts as the seller of record, it charges you, adds the taxes that apply and issues the invoice, and its terms for buyers apply to the payment.

You pay by card, at the provider's checkout. The details of your card go to the provider and never reach our servers, so we never see or store the full card number. We keep the brand of the card, its last four digits and its expiry date.

By choosing a plan, you agree that the plan fee, the usage and the difference for a higher plan are charged to your card as this section describes, until the plan has ended and its last usage is paid.

### Changing or canceling your plan

Only the owner of the team can change the plan or the payment method, or cancel. All of it is done in the dashboard.

- A move to a higher plan takes effect at once. The difference in the plan fee is charged pro rata, which means in proportion to what is left of the billing period.
- A move to a lower plan takes effect at the end of the billing period. The dashboard refuses it while the team uses more than the lower plan allows. If the team uses more than that when the period ends, the plan stays as it is, and we tell the owner and the admins by email.
- When you cancel, the plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and until then you can resume it. After that the plan has ended: no further plan fee is charged, and we pause your apps. What your apps used up to then is still charged.

### If a payment fails

If a payment fails, we tell the owner and the admins of the team by email, and the payment is tried again. Your apps keep running in the meantime.

If the payment has still not gone through 7 days after it first failed, we pause the apps of the team. They run again when the payment goes through. If the payment is no longer tried, the plan ends.

### When a plan or a trial has ended

A plan ends when you cancel it and the period you paid for runs out, or when a failed payment is no longer tried. A trial ends when its 7 days are over. In each case the apps of the team are paused, and nothing is deleted yet.

If you choose a plan, the apps that were paused for this reason run again.

If 30 days pass after the plan or the trial ended and no plan was chosen, we delete the apps of the team. We warn the owner and the admins by email 7 days and 1 day before we do. Deleting an app removes it at once, together with its address. The team and your account stay.

### Price changes

We may change our prices. We tell you at least 30 days before a change. The new price applies from the first billing period that starts after those 30 days. If you do not agree, cancel your plan before that period starts.

### Refunds and billing mistakes

The [refund policy](https://arrangic.com/refunds) says when we give money back and what to do when an invoice looks wrong. Beyond what that policy, this agreement and the law provide, payments are not refunded.

## Suspending and ending

This agreement lasts until we close your account at your request, or until we end it.

You can stop at any time. Cancel your plan and delete your apps in the dashboard. To close your account and have its data deleted, write to [privacy@arrangic.com](mailto:privacy@arrangic.com).

We may suspend the service for you, or end this agreement, if:

- you break this agreement, which includes the [acceptable use policy](https://arrangic.com/acceptable-use),
- you do not pay what you owe; for a failed payment the steps under [If a payment fails](#if-a-payment-fails) come first,
- you dispute a charge at your bank without writing to us first, as the [refund policy](https://arrangic.com/refunds) describes,
- your use puts the platform, other customers or other people at risk, or
- the law requires it.

While the service is suspended for you, your apps do not run.

Where we reasonably can, we give you notice first, and time to put things right. In urgent cases we act first and tell you after. Fees are not refunded when we suspend or end the service because you broke this agreement, as the [refund policy](https://arrangic.com/refunds) says.

We may also stop offering the service, or end this agreement without one of these reasons, if we tell you at least 30 days ahead. In that case we refund the part of a plan fee that you paid for the time after the end.

When this agreement ends, your apps stop and your right to use the service ends. What you owed up to that day stays owed. We delete your content and your account data within 30 days, apart from what the law makes us keep. We keep invoices and payment records for 7 years.

These stay in force after the end: what you owe, [No warranty](#no-warranty), [Limit of liability](#limit-of-liability), [Your responsibility to us](#your-responsibility-to-us), [Law and disputes](#law-and-disputes) and [General terms](#general-terms).

## Availability and support

We work to keep the service running. We do not promise that it never stops. There is no service level agreement and no promised uptime. Maintenance can interrupt the service. So can faults, ours or those of the providers we rely on.

If a failure on our side kept your apps offline, the [refund policy](https://arrangic.com/refunds) says what you can ask for.

Support is by email, at [support@arrangic.com](mailto:support@arrangic.com). We aim to answer within 2 working days. That is an aim, not a promise.

## What belongs to us

The platform, this website, the documentation and the name Orbit belong to us, or to those who license parts of them to us.

While this agreement lasts, you have the right to use the service as these terms allow. You get nothing more than that.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, without owing you anything.

## Other providers

The service runs on the infrastructure and the services of other companies, for example for servers, for payments and for email. We choose them with care. Toward you, we remain responsible for the service under these terms.

## Privacy and data processing

The [privacy policy](https://arrangic.com/privacy) explains which personal data we hold about you and what we do with it.

Your apps may process personal data of other people, such as your own users. If they do, and data protection law requires a contract between you and us for that, the [data processing addendum](https://arrangic.com/dpa) applies and is part of this agreement.

## No warranty

**The service is provided as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we give no warranty beyond what these terms say, whether stated or implied. That includes the implied warranties of merchantability, of fitness for a particular purpose and of non-infringement. We do not promise that the service will run without interruption or without errors, or that data will not be lost.**

## Limit of liability

**As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost data or lost business, or for indirect or consequential damage.**

**As far as the law allows, our total liability for everything connected with the service and with this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the event that caused it.**

**Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.**

## Your responsibility to us

If someone makes a claim against us because of your apps, because of your content, or because you broke this agreement, you cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, and whatever we have to pay because of the claim.

## Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example when the service or the law changes. The date at the top of this page says when they last changed.

For a change that matters, we tell you by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, stop using the service before that day. If you carry on, the new terms apply. Other changes apply when we publish them.

We announce changes to the [acceptable use policy](https://arrangic.com/acceptable-use), the [refund policy](https://arrangic.com/refunds) and the [data processing addendum](https://arrangic.com/dpa) in the same way.

## Law and disputes

These terms, and any dispute about them or about the service, are governed by the law of the State of Delaware, United States.

If something is wrong, write to [legal@arrangic.com](mailto:legal@arrangic.com) first and give us a chance to put it right.

A dispute that cannot be settled that way is heard only by the state and federal courts in Delaware, United States.

If you are a consumer, the rights that the law of your country gives you, and that a contract cannot take away, stay with you.

## General terms

- These terms, with the documents they make part of the agreement, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If these terms and one of those documents disagree, these terms come first, except that the data processing addendum comes first on data protection.
- If one part of these terms does not hold, the rest stays in force.
- If we do not enforce a right, we have not given it up.
- You may not hand this agreement to someone else without our consent. We may hand it on as part of a merger or a sale of the business.
- Neither side is liable for a delay or a failure caused by events outside its reasonable control.
- We send notices to the email address of your account. You send notices to [legal@arrangic.com](mailto:legal@arrangic.com) or to our postal address, given under [Contact](#contact).
